The European Pensions industry has acknowledged Aviva Investors long-standing expertise and commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, naming it ‘SRI Provider of the Year’ for the third year in a row at the European Pensions Awards.

The ceremony recognises outstanding achievement in the field of European pension provision and the investment firms, consultancies and pension providers across Europe that have set the standard to best serve European pension funds.

Aviva Investors SRI (Sustainable and Responsible Investments) portfolio spans equities, fixed income, absolute return, cash and property and includes innovative products such as the Aviva Investors Sustainable Future Pan-European Absolute Return and the Aviva Investors Sustainable Future Corporate Bond fund.

The award also recognised Aviva Investors as a leader in company engagement and industry education, working to improve pension fund commitment to active engagement and to also improve the long-term sustainability of capital markets. Most recently, Aviva Investors led a delegation of 24 other institutional investors in writing to the world’s 30 largest stock exchanges asking that they address inadequate sustainability reporting by companies. It also engaged on a number of other collaborative initiatives including a call to the UK government to improve corporate accountability via company law and supported mandatory reporting of greenhouse gas emissions as part of the Carbon Disclosure Project.
